Sarchi is the cradle of Costa Rican handiwork, where the famous
painted oxcarts – symbols of Costa Rica Folklore –
are still made using traditional methods. Sarchi’s workshops
also produce thousands of items carved from the fine tropical
hardwoods, leather and textiles. The route to Sarchi passes
through picturesque small towns like Grecia, with its unique
metal church.
