Poás Volcano National Park features two impressive
craters: one active and one that holds a lovely Crater Lake.
The massive active crater often has sulfuric smoke rising
out of the boiling, muddy lake on its botton, while the beautiful
crater lagoon is surrounded by dwarf vegetation and lush cloud
forest, with species of birds and plants native to the volcano.
The road to the park passes quaint villages, coffee plantations,
dairy farms and spectacular views, and when finally in the
park, we are surrounded by lush, unique vegetation.
